Ningbo Aosen Bearing Co., Ltd. supplies the SS 6700 series as part of our stainless steel deep groove ball bearing programme. As an SS 6700 Series Stainless Steel Deep Groove Ball Bearings manufacturer, we combine in-house production with export-focused engineering support for OEMs, distributors and plant projects. This series is designed for compact equipment in humid, washdown or mildly corrosive environments where space is limited and service life matters.
Our current SS 6700 programme covers SS 6702 and SS 6704 in open, ZZ and 2RS configurations. Both models use the slim-cross-section deep groove design that distinguishes this family from standard 6000, 6200 and 6300 series bearings, giving designers an easier path to smaller housings and lighter rotating assemblies.
Manufacturer positioning and engineering value
We are not only an export sales desk. The SS 6700 line is produced in our own factory in Cixi, Ningbo, China, established in 2016, with more than 8,000 square metres of manufacturing space. That vertical integration lets us control raw material sourcing, machining, heat treatment, assembly and final inspection, and it is the reason we can accept OEM modifications without losing batch-to-batch consistency.
The engineering value of the 6700 series is its thin section. A bearing that takes less axial space often enables a shorter shaft, a thinner housing wall and a lighter overall assembly. The deep raceway still provides the load capacity of a deep groove ball bearing, including radial loads and moderate bidirectional axial loads.
Application fit and typical environments
SS 6700 series bearings suit equipment where corrosion resistance and compactness are required together. The stainless rings and balls are selected for the application, and the range is used across the following sectors:
- Food and beverage processing: fillers, mixers, conveyors and packaging machinery that undergo frequent washdown.
- Water treatment and pump systems: continuous moisture, condensation and occasional chemical exposure.
- Medical and laboratory instruments: small drives and roller supports in devices that need cleanability and quiet operation.
- Industrial automation: compact gearboxes, actuators, pulleys and robotic joints where axial space is tight.
- Marine and outdoor equipment: humidity, salt-laden air and temperature swings.
For applications that need standard dimensions with higher corrosion resistance, the SS 6700 series is a direct metric replacement in sizes 15x21x4 and 20x27x4.

ZZ denotes pressed steel shields for dust protection with minimal torque. 2RS denotes contact rubber seals for better moisture and contaminant exclusion. Open versions are available when the equipment has its own lubrication path. Materials and corrosion performance
Stainless steel bearings often fail from corrosion of the raceways rather than from fatigue, especially in washdown and marine service. We select the stainless grade according to the actual operating environment:
- AISI 420 and 440 martensitic stainless steel for high hardness and dependable corrosion resistance in humid, mildly corrosive service.
- 440C for higher hardness and better wear resistance in rotating applications.
- AISI 304 and 316 austenitic stainless steel for stronger corrosion resistance where washdown or chemical exposure is frequent and loads are moderate.
- GCr15 bearing steel remains available for dry indoor applications that need the same dimensions without stainless material cost.
Because the 6700 series is a thin-section bearing, raceway hardness and surface finish have a proportionally larger effect on service life. In-house heat treatment and finishing processes are controlled to maintain consistent hardness and dimensional stability across production batches.
Quality control and manufacturing capacity
Our factory uses advanced manufacturing and testing equipment and monitors critical parameters such as inner diameter, outer diameter and roundness during production. Before shipment, all bearings go through standardized inspection covering flatness and visual quality. We describe the overall system as dual quality control because the factory controls process quality and the export team re-checks product readiness and documentation.
Annual output for deep groove ball bearings, including this series, is 13–15 million sets. For the SS 6700 range, that capacity supports scheduled OEM releases and continuous supply for distributors. Direct factory supply keeps the cost structure transparent and reduces the communication gaps often found between a bearing factory and an overseas customer.
Configuration and OEM customization
We support customization of dimensions, materials and sealing structures. Typical modifications include:
- Non-standard width, bore or outer diameter for compact housings.
- Extended inner rings or grooved outer rings for location and drive features.
- Special tolerance classes for shaft and housing fits with tight running requirements.
- Different ball or ring materials for aggressive media.
- Grease selection covering standard lithium, high-temperature, low-noise and food-grade options.
For a new project, send drawings, samples or a marked-up standard drawing. We evaluate the geometry against our production process, confirm sealing and material, and then submit a configuration-specific proposal.
Information we use to prepare a suitable proposal
To configure the SS 6700 series correctly and avoid a mismatch between bearing and application, please include the following data when requesting a quotation:
- Model number or bore, outer diameter and width if replacing a worn bearing.
- Estimated quantity per order and annual consumption.
- Speed range and expected radial and axial loads.
- Operating temperature and lubrication method.
- Environment: washdown, chemicals, humidity, dust or salt air.
- Preferred sealing arrangement: open, ZZ or 2RS.
- Tolerance and radial internal clearance class if already defined.
- Mounting style, shaft and housing fits, orientation and preload requirements.
- Required documentation such as dimensional inspection reports or material certificates.
- Packaging and delivery requirements for line supply or export shipment.
This information determines the material grade, clearance, sealing, grease and inspection scope before we finalize the quotation.
Installation, maintenance and service support
Sealed 2RS versions are greased at the factory and require no re-lubrication during normal service. ZZ versions keep dust out and suit higher-speed, low-contamination applications. Open versions are intended for housings with a separate lubrication system.
Install stainless steel bearings with clean tools and avoid pressing on the outer ring when fitting a bearing onto a shaft. The narrow width of the 6700 series makes correct seating especially important; any misalignment appears quickly as increased torque or noise. Our after-sales service team can discuss seal selection, grease fill and mounting questions during project planning.
We also offer the broader Stainless Steel Deep Groove Ball Bearings range when a larger bore or different width is needed beyond the 6700 envelope.
Frequently asked questions
What are the main advantages of the SS 6700 series?
The series combines a thin-section deep groove design with stainless steel construction. It saves axial space, supports radial and moderate bidirectional axial loads, and resists humidity, washdown and mild chemical exposure.
Which sealing option should I choose: ZZ or 2RS?
Choose ZZ metal shields for dust protection, high speed and low torque. Choose 2RS rubber seals for frequent washdown, moisture and contaminant exclusion. Open bearings are suitable when the equipment has its own lubrication system.
Can you supply non-standard SS 6700 bearings?
Yes. We customize dimensions, materials and sealing structures, and we can also make extended inner rings, grooved outer rings and special tolerance classes. Development starts from your drawing, sample or marked-up standard bearing.
Are these bearings suitable for food and beverage washdown?
Yes, when the correct stainless grade and 2RS seal are specified. Frequent washing quickly damages standard chrome steel bearings; stainless steel raceways maintain stable performance over longer periods.
How do you ensure consistency across production batches?
We control the full process in our own factory, from raw material selection through machining, heat treatment, assembly and final inspection. Critical dimensions and roundness are measured during production, and standardized flatness and visual checks are completed before shipment.
